Donald Ray Seaman was born September 30, 1932 in Hyannis, Nebraska, the son of Raymond and Edna Mae (Beem) Seaman. Don passed away on June 17, 2010 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 8 months, 17 days. He graduated from high school UNSA in Curtis, Nebraska in 1950. Don served in the Korean War in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. On August 21, 1952, he was united in marriage to Janita Joan Barnes at Rapid City, South Dakota. Don graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Engineering in 1960. He was employed as a mechanical/manufacturing engineer for the Defense Division of Brunswick Corporation for 21 years and retired in 1989. They lived in Lincoln, Nebraska for 19 years, Camden, Arkansas for 19 years and moved to Seward, Nebraska in 2004. Don was a member of the United Methodist Church, a life member of VFW Post #4755 in Seward and in retirement he and Janita were avid collectors of vintage Mustang vehicles, incorporating their hobby into Arkansas Mustang, Inc. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Edna Seaman; his sister, Dorothy Flannery; and infant son, Gary. Survivors include, wife, Janita Seaman of Seward; sons and daughters-in-law, Tye Seaman of Lincoln, Brent Seaman of Seward, Ruston and Donna Seaman of Philippi, West Virginia, Ryne and Janet Seaman of Seward, Darren Seaman of Moatsville, West Virginia; grandchildren, Nickolas Seaman, Ceanna Seaman, Daniel Seaman, Jordan Seaman, Taylor Seaman, Leah Seaman, Ruston Ray Seaman, Isabella Seaman; other relatives and friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Don. |
