Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011 St. John Lutheran Church Seward, Nebraska Officiants: Pastor Scott Bruick, Pastor Andrew Ratcliffe, and Pastor Bob Paulson VISITATION 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Thursday Graveside Service and Burial 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Ulysses Township Cemetery Ulysses, Nebraska MEMORIALS Memorials are to be directed to the White family for a later designation Donald Herman White was born September 17, 1944 to Morris and Anita (Cordes) White in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away on November 6, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 67 years, 1 month, 19 days. Don attended district #31 in Ulysses and graduated from Seward High School in 1963. He took several courses at the agricultural school at UNL. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard from 1963 to 1970. Don was baptized and was a member of the Methodist Church in Ulysses and later joined St. Peter's Lutheran in Gresham and then transferred to St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. He was a former member of the Ulysses Jaycees. He received the Farmer of the Year Award. He enjoyed digging, collecting, and displaying American Indian artifacts. He was a life-long farmer in the Ulysses area retiring in 2010 due to failing health. Don was united in marriage to Judith Ann Tuepker on June 15, 1968 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Gresham. They resided on a farm near Ulysses and later in 1985 made their home in Seward. Don was preceded in death by his mother, Anita White; his grandparents; father-in-law, Elmer Tuepker and sister-in-law, Shirley White. Don's survivors include his wife, Judy White, Seward; father, Morris White, Seward; sister and brother-in-law, Carol Jean and Dick Helvey, Lexington; brother, Keith White, Chicago, IL; mother-in-law, Lois Tuepker, York; brother-in-law and spouse, Jim and Deb Tuepker, Lexington; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Don.
