Donna (Norman) Sieck was born on March 6, 1922, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Walter Charles and Cleo Jane (Thompson) Norman and passed away on November 2, 2021, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 99 years, 7 months and 27 days. Donna grew up in Lincoln where she graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1940.
She was united in marriage to Ervin Sieck on June 29, 1947, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Dale. They moved to Seward where Ervin worked at Jones Bank. Donna was a stay-at-home mom until the early 1960s when she went to work as a bookkeeper for Lucille Duer at her hair salon. In 2010, Donna moved back to Lincoln to be closer to her son, Jerry.
Donna enjoyed life to the fullest, meeting people, talking and making friends. She loved dancing, golfing, bowling, fishing, and playing cards, especially Bridge, as well as Nickels. Donna loved to travel, cook and spend time in her garden. Before her eyesight failed, she also enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, and crocheting. Donna was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin in 2005; two brothers, Forest Norman and Russell Norman and two sisters, Eunice Sieck and Emogene DeField.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Gary and wife, Joanne Sieck, Rochester, MN; Jerry and wife, Susan Sieck, Lincoln; grandchildren, Dr. Christian and wife, Betsy Sieck, Jessica Sieck, Jonathan and wife, Julia Sieck, Dr. Dylan and wife, Ellen Sieck, Chloe Sieck; great-grandchildren, Sadie Sieck, Sam Sieck, Lucy Sieck and Emma Sieck; sister, Betty Rietfors. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Donna.
