Obituary
Doris graduated from Sidney High School with the class of 1947. She met and later married Gilbert Frank on October 10, 1948 in Sidney, NE. To this union six children were born. Doris loved the farm, where she raised chickens, pigs and had a huge garden. Doris enjoyed being a 4-H Leader and worked at J.C. Penney for several years before it closed. In her later years she became an avid quilter at home and also quilted with the ladies at the senior center. Doris was a long time member of the Friedens United Church of Christ in Goehner, NE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; parents, William and Blanche Gipfert; in-laws, Henry and Helena Frank; son, Douglas Frank; two brothers, Ernest and Ken Gipfert; two sisters, Rose Heiser and Lucille Gipfert; sister-in-law, Marilyn Haynes and two infant grandchildren.
Doris is survived by five children, Perry and wife Kathy Frank of Lincoln, NE; Sandra and husband Jerry Fricke of Columbus, NE; Karen and husband Alan Bye of Seward, NE; Carol and husband Mike Pflughaupt of Seward, NE; Ronda and husband Brad Diggs of Glenside, PA; daughter-in-law, Debi Frank of Seward, NE; brother, John Gipfert and wife Barb of Sidney, NE; sister, Maxine Brooks and husband Jim of Vista, CA; sister-in-law, Irma Rosberg of Omaha, NE; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
