Dorothy Mae Kozisek was born on November 25, 1925, in rural Waco, NE; to William A and Minnie (Behrens) Brackhan and passed away on December 12, 2012, in Lincoln, NE; at the age of 87 years and 17 days. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Waco. She attended parochial school and Utica High School. Dorothy was a clerk at the Grocery Store in Utica for many years. She married Alfred R. Kozisek on December 10, 1978, at Beaver Crossing, NE. Dorothy and Alfred lived on a farm southeast of Utica until 1984 when they retired to Utica. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica since 1972. Dorothy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Patricia Brackhan of Utica, NE; nieces Sharilyn (Mike) Steube of York, NE; and Shelley (Stanley) Fritz of Elkhorn, NE; nephew, Steven Brackhan of Beaver Crossing, NE; great nieces and nephews, Don Ramsey Jr., Nicole Ramsey, Tommie Alderman, Shaughnessy and deChelly Ramsey, Calen and Micah Storjohn, Tesia (Jamison) Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred R. Kozisek on June 15, 1999, niece, Shirdell Honea and great niece Ashley Brackhan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Zabka Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday December 17, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica with Reverend Jon Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow at the Utica Cemetery. Memorials contributions may be made to the donor's choice in care of the Kozisek family.
