Dorothy Emma (Mann) Rolfsmeier was born October 22, 1927 on a ranch near Taylor, Nebraska to Allan Thurman and Emma Magdelena (Goehring) Mann and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on August 2, 2007 at the age of 79 years, 9 months, 11 days. Dorothy was baptized at the Congregational Church in Taylor and was confirmed on April 18, 1943 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Burwell, Nebraska. She was a 1944 graduate of Taylor High School and attended Secretarial School in Lincoln and then worked as a secretary for 2 years.

On October 30,1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Leslie Herman Rolfsmeier, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Steven Leslie, Richard Alan and Gary James. Les and Dorothy worked together in the earth moving business and subbed work for the Bureau of Reclamation, building many canals in Nebraska and Kansas. Dorothy was later employed as a secretary at Concordia (College) University in Seward.

She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid in Seward and the Seward Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Ambassadors. She enjoyed the game of cribbage and played the piano for the nursing homes in Seward. Dorothy and Les loved to travel and enjoyed many trips together.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Norma Mann and Glen and Stella Mann and her brothers-in-law, Dale Bredthauer and Albert Stelling.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Les Rolfsmeier of Seward; her sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Vanessa Rolfsmeier of Brainerd, MN, Dr. Richard and JoAnn Rolfsmeier of Seward, and Gary and Kathy Rolfsmeier of Denver, CO; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her sister, Clarice Stelling of Grand Island; her brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Eunice Mann of O'Neill; other relatives and a host of friends.
