Douglas William Gallagher was born February 24, 1955 in Friend, Nebraska to Dale and Viola (Whitenack) Gallagher and passed away on March 10, 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 60 years, 14 days. Doug was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church, Seward, Nebraska. He was a 1973 graduate of Seward High School. Doug was united in marriage to Jeanne Louise Polley on October 26, 1985 in Osceola, Nebraska and their marriage was blessed with two sons, Shawn and James. Doug lived in Pennsylvania for nine years and moved back to Seward in 1997. He was a self-employed contractor all of his life and currently was a carpet layer for Cornerstone in Seward and Carpet Land in Lincoln. Doug was active in Cornhusker Invitational Pigeon Racing Club in Lincoln and enjoyed hunting wild birds. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Viola Gallagher; his sister, Karen and a nephew, Andrew Gallagher. Doug is survived by his sons, Shawn Gallagher, Tampa, FL and James Gallagher, Lincoln; his brother and sisters, Brian Gallagher, Grand Island, Gail and her husband Lonnie Cox, Harker Heights, TX and Donna Engelbrecht, Punta Gorda, FL; mother of their children, Jeanne Masters, Bee; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
