Douglas G. Frank was born February 8, 1963 to Gilbert and Doris (Gipfert) Frank and passed away at his home following a courageous battle with cancer on April 16, 2010 at the age of 47 years, 2 months and 8 days. Doug was a 1981 graduate of Seward High School and earned his degree in diesel mechanics and welding from Southeast Community College in 1983. After short stints at Metro Mail and Nebraska Equipment, Doug began working for Briggs Cattle Company. On June 7, 1986, Doug was united in marriage to Debbie Glasscock at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska. After the untimely death of Doug's father, Gilbert in 1988, Bob Briggs stepped in and took Doug under his wing. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Frank; grandparents, Henry and Helena Frank and Ernest and Blanche Gipfert; father-in-law, Dean Glasscock; brother-in-law, Doug Glasscock; uncle, Kenny Gipfert; aunt, Mae Gipfert; and a great uncle Walter Johann. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Debbie Frank of Seward; son, Gil Frank of Staplehurst; daughters and son-in-law, Bobbi and Ryon Blath of Staplehurst and Alicia McVey of Lincoln; grandchildren, Dhusty and Dylon Blath and Taylor McVey; brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Kathy Frank of Lincoln;sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Jerry Fricke of Monroe, Karen and Alan Bye of Seward, Carol and Mike Pflughaupt of Seward, Ronda and Brad Diggs of Glenside, PA; close friend to the family, Cheryl Bond; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Andrea and Logan Flood, Rachel Fricke, Jesse Frank, Nyla Bye, Kevin Pflughaupt and his fiance', Brandi Baldwin, Kent Fricke, Daniel and Crystal Bye, Ashton Diggs, Colton Diggs, Jon and Kris Frank, Joshua and Elijah Frank; great nieces and nephews, Gavin, Colby and Bailey. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Doug. |
