Dwayne Ernest Otte of Seward, NE passed to his Heavenly home with family at his side on March 5, 2010. Dwayne was born March 29, 1939 in Bradshaw, NE to Ernest and Ocee (Friesen) Otte. He graduated Seward High School in 1957. He served in the Navy during Vietnam from 1958 1974, earning the Expedition Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Citation.

After 1974, he worked the Texas Oil fields, Tenneco and Hughes Brothers. In 1985 he joined the trucking industry driving for Crete Carrier of Lincoln, Coors Trans and Miles Lane LTD of Denver, Colorado until returning to Nebraska in 1995 due to his health. He was a member of the American Legion Post #33, VFW Post #4755 and St. John Lutheran Church.

Preceding Dwayne in death was his father, Ernest Otte; mother-in-law, Norma Schildt Priess; brother-in-law, LeRoy Kratochvil.

Left to share his memories are his wife, Valera (Priess) Otte of Seward; mother, Ocee Otte of Seward; mother of his children, Bev (Policky) Tidd of Arvada, CO; daughters, Jackie Hottovy of Lincoln, Kris and Brett Queen of Tiago, TX; sons, Paul and Greg Otte of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 3 step-children, Tamala and Marty Clausen of Hooper, NE, Robert and Pam Duer of Cummings, GA, Bryan Duer and his fiance', Dee Spence of Seward; 3 grandsons, Zack, Cody and Tara, and Dustin McGee; granddaughters, Brandi, Sabrina, Erin & Ashlee; step-grandchildren, Nicholas and Liz Clausen, Kurtis and Brittany Clausen and Trenton Clausen and Tara Duer; great grandchildren, Erika Clausen and Trevin McGee; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sue Otte of Seward; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Morris Drake, Norma Lee and Don Sronce all of Lincoln, Carol Kratochvil of Ulysses; father-in-law, Theodor Priess and special friend, Ann Fisher of Cedar Creek, NE; many nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of friends and his many caregivers at Aseracare Hospice.
