E. Glendora (Hammer) Sahn was born March 25, 1916 in Modale, Iowa to Delbert and Margaret (Miller) Hammer and passed away in Milford, Nebraska on May 27, 2008 at the age of 92 years, 2 months, 2 days. Glendora was a 1934 graduate of Modale High School and following her graduation worked in the Logan County Courthouse and at the Missouri Valley Movie Theatre. Otto danced into Glendora's life and they were married on September 7, 1941 at the Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Glendora was employed with Union Pacific Railroad during World War II while Otto was in the service. In 1946, Otto and Glendora moved to Seward where she spent 20 years raising their family before returning to the workforce at Seward County Courthouse in the Clerk's office from 1967 to 1981. Glendora enjoyed memberships at St. John Lutheran Church and LWML, the Seward Woman's Club, Busy Hour Extension Club, and VFW Auxiliary Post No. 4755 Seward. Glendora and Otto were named Honorary Members of the Seward Kiwanis Kitones. Glendora was a former Campfire Girls and Boy Scout leader. Glendora was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Margaret Hammer; her husband, Otto in January of 2008; her brothers and sister-in-law, Harold and Helen Hammer and Gerald Hammer and two infant brothers. Glendora is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Connie Sahn of Seward; daughters and son-in-law, Marbeth Sahn of Everett, WA and Nancy and John Wolf of Snohomish, WA; grandchildren and spouses, Sarah and Max Collinge, Bethany and Craig Robinson and Dan Sahn; great-grandchildren, Hannah Collinge and Isaiah Robinson; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Glen Morrow of Sparta, MO; sister-in-law and husband, Shirley and Cliff Swanger, Missouri Valley, IA; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Glendora. |
