Edith Pearl (Radford) Wagenknecht was born April 27, 1920 in rural Ulysses, Nebraska to Osborn and Minnie (Fender) Radford and passed away on October 5, 2005 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 5 months, 8 days. She was a 1937 graduate of Seward High School. On May 2, 1942 Edith was united in marriage to Paul John Wagenknecht in Garland, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Jane and Eugene Cork. Edith was a lifetime housewife and farmwife, since 1942. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Garland and a former member of the Ladies Aid of Zion Lutheran. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wagenknecht; her parents, Osborn and Minnie Radford; her grandson, Michael Wagenknecht; her sisters, Esther Radford, Gertrude Lukert and Ethel Hans; and her brothers, Jarvis Radford and Orville Radford. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Orell Piening, rural Malcolm, her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene Cork and Diane Wagenknecht, rural Garland; grandchildren, Sheila and Doug Garrison, Shelly and Jim Mikus, Scott Piening, Jason and Travis Wagenknecht; great-grandsons, Nathan and Jacob Garrison, Ryan, Derek and Joshua Mikus; sisters-in-law, Elsa Richters, Seward; Mildred Wagenknecht, Lincoln; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Edith. |
