Edmund Joseph Kastl was born March 2, 1909 in Bee, Nebraska to John and Frances (Havlovic) Kastl and passed away on October 22, 2005 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 96 years, 7 months, 20 days. Edmund attended school at Bee Public School. On June 11, 1934, John was united in marriage to Mary Agnes Coufal at Dwight Assumption Catholic Church. They were the parents of one son, John Kastl. Edmund was a rural route mail carrier for many years. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Bee and also a member of the National Rural Letters Carriers Association.

Edmund was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Kastl, his wife, Mary A. Kastl in 1999, two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Mary Kastl, sister-in-law, Celeste Sally Pascal, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Ben Hughes, brother-in-law, Frank Coufal.

Edmund is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Rose Kastl, Lincoln, grandson and wife, John A. and Joyce Kastl, granddaughter, Teresa M. Kastl, three great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Louis Pascal, Seward, sister-in-law, Lois Coufal, Columbus, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
