Charles Edward Foster was born November 23, 1919 in Butler County, Nebraska, the son of James Grover and Ellen "Mae" (Moore) Foster. Ed passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 6 months, 18 days. Ed was a 1937 graduate of Ulysses High School. He was united in marriage to Tressie Blondeana Mull on March 30, 1940 at Washington, Kansas. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Stanley and Sandra. Ed was a farmer and raised dairy cattle and hogs. He also worked at Hughes Brothers Manufacturing in Seward for many years. Ed was a member of the Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Mae Foster; his son, Stan Foster; sister, Betty Hurt; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Hazel Foster; nephew and wife, Duane and Violet Hurt. Ed is survived by his wife, Tressie Foster; their daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Steve Ritchie of Crete; eight grandchildren, Schawn and Eric Kellogg, Shani and Bob Jones, Deanna and Eric Weeks, Jody and Troy Brauer, Tina and John Rockenbach, Cory Foster, Casey and Marcia Foster, Katey and Brian Chamblin; 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Betty Foster of Ulysses; nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Beverly Foster of Lincoln and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Ed. |
