Edward (Sub) Raskey, Jr. was born on December 5, 1929, in Brainard, NE to Edward (Sub) and Bertha (Nelson) Raskey, Sr. and passed away on July 5, 2014, at his home near Bee, NE at the age of 84 years and 7 months. Edward grew up in Brainard where he attended school and graduated in the Class of 1948. Ed worked with his father and brother at their family salvage business. They later had the Studebaker dealership for a number of years before they opened the Honda Dealership in Brainard for 20 years. Ed took care of ordering motorcycles and parts, bookkeeping and was a salesman. He always wanted a clean shop and often ran the broom around the store first thing every morning. His hobbies were very simple, he loved going to work and later living on the ranch east of Bee. He was a former member of the Brainard Fire Department and the Brainard Commercial Club. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Brainard. Ed was a caregiver for his mother while she lived at home. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene; and brother-in-law, Louis Helgoth. Edward is survived by his brother, Dwayne Raskey and his wife, Jenny of Brainard, NE; sister, Rosemarie Helgoth of St. Libory, NE; sister-in-law, Hazel Raskey of Lincoln, NE; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
