Eileen C. (Niemann) Matulka was born October 15, 1921 in rural Staplehurst, Nebraska to Louis and Mary (Nagel) Niemann and passed away on February 2, 2006 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 3 months, 18 days. Eileen was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church; she attended parochial school and Rosemond School and was a graduate of Seward High School. On December 29, 1943, Eileen was united in marriage to Sylvester Matulka in Wilmington, North Carolina. This marriage was blessed with four children, Diane, Doug, Marlin, and Gary. When living in Lincoln Eileen worked at Stop Nut Manufacturing Company and Wendell Bakery. They moved to rural Ulysses in 1946 where they farmed. In 1964, they moved to rural Staplehurst. Eileen was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Staplehurst and Bible Study Groups.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sylvester in 1994, her sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Ben Bitterman and nephew, Verle Bitterman.

Eileen is survived by her children and spouses, Diane and Robert Scott, Friend, Doug and Joan Matulka, David City, Marlin and Pat Matulka, Seward, Gary Matulka and special friend, Pam Hanks, Seward; 11 grandchildren, Blake Matulka, Matt Matulka, Eric and Cathy Matulka, Randy Matulka, Kristy and Mike Harries, Barbara Matulka, Melissa Matulka and Willie Kimsey, Melanie Matulka, Jennifer and Troy Dvorak, Michelle and Brent Falgione, and Tressa Scott; 4 great grandchildren, Trevor Dvorak, Alyson Matulka, Brayden Matulka, and Skyler Kimsey; other relatives and a host of friends.
