Obituary

Elaine Janice (O'Riley) Tiritilli (formerly from Garland and Seward) was born July 6, 1941 in Mitchell, South Dakota, the only child of Ross A. Jr. and Verna E. (Nelson) O'Riley. Elaine passed away on November 14, 2014 at her home in Bullhead City, Arizona at the age of 73 years, 4 months, and 8 days following a long battle with lung cancer. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church in Artesian, SD. Elaine attended Shaffer Country School in Oneida Township northwest of Artesian and Artesian High School. She grew up on a farm near Artesian before moving to Nebraska. On May 14, 1977 Elaine was united in marriage to Thomas Tiritilli Sr. at the United Methodist Church in Seward, Nebraska. Elaine was a stay at home mom while her kids were small. She worked several jobs through the years, mostly in banks and credit unions. During Tom and Elaine's married life they lived in Seward, NE; York, NE; Spearfish, SD; and Las Vegas, NV before retiring to Bullhead City, AZ in 1999. Elaine was a thoughtful, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed visiting with everyone, line dancing, traveling, golfing, and working on her computer; especially making personalized greeting cards. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her friends. Elaine will be remembered for her joyous spirit, her personal kindness, her laughter, and the way she responded to the many challenges of lung cancer with extraordinary dignity, perseverance, courage, and grace. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Ross Jr. and Verna O'Riley; son-in-law, Daniel Moravec; stepsons, Robert and Anthony Tiritilli; brothers-in-law, Bruce Craig and Nicholas Tiritilli. Elaine is survived by her spouse Thomas Tiritilli Sr., Bullhead City, AZ; daughter, Pamela Moravec, Seward, NE; son, Chuck Sybert, Lincoln, NE; stepsons and their spouses, Thomas Tiritilli Jr. and Sherry, Colorado Springs, CO; Kenneth Tiritilli and Shawn, Colorado Springs, CO; stepdaughter and her spouse, Christina and Cole Foster, Lincoln NE; 15 grandchildren and step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Elaine Craig, Fontana, CA and Hildah Tiritilli, Kansas City, MO; and a host of special friends.
