January 25, 1939 – May 16, 2017
Emil Frank Klement, 78, of Ulysses entered into eternal rest on May 16, 2017 at Ridgewood in Seward. Emil was born near Staplehurst, January 25, 1939, the son of Frank James and Annie Marie (Vasut) Klement.
Emil was a 1957 graduate of Ulysses High School and then farmed all his life and raised cattle. Emil was in the National Guard for six years and active duty for six months. He was a member of the Dwight American Legion, a dedicated member and very active in the Color Guard and the Firing Detail. Emil was also a member of the Ulysses Fire Department for 55 years and the Rural Fire Board for 42 years. He was a member of several other organizations. Farming and cattle were Emil's highlights. He also enjoyed the casinos, polka music and attending the grandchildren's activities.
Survivors cherishing Emil's memories include his special friend, Patsy DeWispelare; children and spouses: Margaret and Jeff Karber of Brainard, Marvin Klement of Ulysses, Cindy and David Potter of Valparaiso and Melvin and Dawn Klement of Valparaiso; 16 grandchildren and spouses: Anthony and Liz Karber, Mikala and Patrick Wambold, Brittany Karber, Amber Karber, Annikka, Cami, Ella, Breckynne and Baylor Klement, Courtney, Morgan, Rachel and Dawson Potter, Andrew, Johnathon, Sophia and Isabella Klement; two great-grandchildren Kameron Karber and Allison Karber; siblings and spouses: Frank Klement of Ulysses, Rosie Westerhoff of Seward, Annie Klement of Ulysses, Mary Jane and Pete Kortum of Hastings, Johnny and Anita Klement of Ulysses; step sister- in- law Nadine Kliment of Topeka, KS. The extended family: Dean and Sabrina DeWispelare of Omaha, Deanne and Jerry Kabourek of Wahoo, Dawn and Chris Grooms of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Cole, Bailey, Cazzie and Lawson DeWispelare and Haley, Hannah and Hilary Kabourek, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Quinten Karber, half-brother Joe Kliment and brother- in- law Al Westerhoff.
