Emil Zima was born on March 23, 1923 north of Utica, Nebraska to Thomas and Josephine (Divis) Zima and passed away on November 8, 2005 in Schuyler, Nebraska at the age of 82 years, 7 months, 16 days. Emil attended country school and then farmed in the Utica area all of his life until retirement. Emil was married to JoAnn Ellis and Florence Prochaska, who preceded him in death, and most recently to Marcella Marcy Svoboda on January 11, 1985, in York, NE. Emil had formerly attended the Utica United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Josephine Zima; his wives, JoAnn Zima and Florence Zima; grandsons, Brian Hedrick and Jeff Adams; brothers, Orville and Albin Zima; and sisters, Wilma Schultz and Helen Zieme. Emil is survived by his wife, Marcy Zima, Schuyler; his children and spouses, Sandra Pflughaupt, West Des Moines, IA, Linda and Gary Holloway, Milford, Wayne and Leslie Zima, Waco; stepchildren and spouses, Janet and Boyd Hedrick, York, Sharon and Roger Glawatz, Seward, Harold and Joan Luebbe, Waco, Robert and Peg Luebbe, Lincoln, Diane and Ross DeWine, Richland, Dana and Billie Abbott, Taveres, FL, Ron J. and Kathy Abbott, Aurora, CO; 31 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Dey, Waco and Irene Zima, Seattle, WA; other relatives and a host of friends.
