Emma Hromas was born May 1, 1911 in Garrison, Nebraska to Emma and Joseph Krepcik and passed away on February 5, 2006 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 9 months, 4 days. She attended country school in Butler County. On October 2, 1929, Emma was united in marriage to Edward Hromas. Two children were born to this union, a son, Eugene and a daughter, Delores. The couple lived and farmed in Butler County east of Ulysses. As well as being a housewife and mother Emma also worked at Ben Franklin in David City and then moved to Seward where she also worked at the Ben Franklin store. Emma enjoyed her yard and flowers and time spent with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Joseph Krepcik; her husband, Edward; two brothers, Emil Krepcik and Joseph Krepcik; two sisters, Erma Krepcik and Rose Nozicka; and her son-in-law, Gordon Roemer. Emma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Judi Hromas, Ulysses; her daughter, Delores Roemer, Fremont, California; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Lillian Krepcik, Seward; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Emma. |
