Erma Rolene Rohren was born September 25, 1908, north of Utica, Nebraska, to Fred M. and Mathilda (Bertram) Rohren; Erma was the oldest of seven children. She was blessed to celebrate her 104th birthday before passing to her heavenly home on Friday, November 23, 2012 at the age of 104 years, 1 month, 29 days. Erma was baptized on October 18, 1908 and confirmed on April 9, 1922. She attended Marysville rural school. Erma was employed for 17 years with Seward Dry Good and other places of employment include Gass Furniture, Hafemeister Insurance and Erma began employment at Concordia College in April of 1962 and retired in June of 1985. Erma was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward; she was active in LWML and Ladies Aid. Erma loved to play bridge and was active in numerous bridge groups along with playing marathon and duplicate bridge. Erma is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mathilda Rohren; her sisters and brothers, Walter "Mike" Rohren, Lenora Brinkmeyer, Velma Gaylord, Leonard Rohren, Eddie Rohren; and nephews, Verle Rohren and Bob Gaylord. Erma is survived by her sister, Loleta Hand, Seward; her sister-in-law, Laverne Rohren, Utica, and her nieces and nephews (to whom Erma was a second mother)Ron and Peg Rohren, Utica, Aloha and Lee Hart, Coupeville, WA, Rolene and Dick Stillahn, Seward, Lathan "Butch" and Brenda Rohren, Lincoln, Kathy and Gil Livo, Sterling, CO, Kent and Carolyn Rohren, Lincoln, Willa Brinkmeyer, North Platte, Carolleen and John Junge, York, Beth and Bob Peterson, Seward. Additionally she is survived by 26 great nieces and great nephews and numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
