Erna Sieck was born April 11, 1921 in rural Garland, Nebraska to Carl and Margaret (Ficken) Pohlman and passed away November 28, 2010 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 17 days. She was baptized April 22, 1921 at the home of her parents and confirmed April 14, 1935 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Garland, Nebraska. Erna was united in marriage to Albert E. Sieck at the home of her parents by A.F. Wegner, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Garland, Nebraska. She was employed at Russell Stover in Lincoln for several years before working in the Food Service Department at the Seward Memorial Hospital. Following the death of her husband in 1986, Erna moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking and playing cards.Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert E. Sieck; sisters, Elda Lange and Irene Gehle; twin brother, Elmer Pohlman. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Loren Fellows of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Virginia Sieck of Lincoln; grandchildren and spouses, Kevin and Rachel Fellows of Lincoln, Kimberly and Jim Furtek of Chicago, IL, Ryan, Travis and Tracy Sieck all of Lincoln; great grandchild, Alex Furtek of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. |
