Ernest Carl Otte was born on December 12, 1913 in Bradshaw, Nebraska to John J. and Wilhelmina Minnie (Klavonn) Otte and passed away on November 28, 2006 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 11 months, 6 days. Ernest was united in marriage to Ocee L. Friesen on July 27, 1938 at the United Methodist Parsonage in Bradshaw, Nebraska. To this union two sons were born, Dwayne and Dennis. Ernest and Ocee moved to Seward in 1941, where Ernest began employment with Hughes Brothers and continued there for 44 years until his retirement in 1985. Ernest was a past president of H.B.E. Credit Union and Hughes Brothers IAM and AW Local Union. After his retirement he was employed with H & S Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning and Wehrs Construction. Ernest was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Wilhelmina Otte; five brothers, Alf, John J.J. Ervin and Herbert Otte and two sisters, Laura Douglas and Marie Hankel. Ernest is survived by his wife, Ocee Otte of Seward; his sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Valera Otte and Dennis and Sue Otte, all of Seward; six grandchildren, Jackie Hottovy, Paul Otte, Greg Otte, Kris Queen, Jeff Otte and Andria Hallberg; 18 great- grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Bonnie Otte of Blair; sisters-in-law, Zel DeBoer and Hazel Otte, both of York; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Ernest. |
