Ernest Ray "Ernie" Buresh was born on October 12, 1954, in Coleridge, Nebraska to Anton and Ludmilla "Lillian" (Novak) Buresh and passed away on July 2, 2025, in David City, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 20 days.
Ernie attended and graduated from East Butler High School with the class of 1973. He was united in marriage to Denise Prochaska on November 15, 1980, at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight, Nebraska. Ernie was employed at various places including Walker Manufacturing Co., Henningsen Foods and Pac N Save Grocery. He was also a lifelong farmer and loved old, antique tractors.
Ernie was an outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved coaching and watching basketball and playing and spending time with his grandchildren, especially going to WWE with them. Ernie was an avid sports fan with Husker athletics and was a Packers fan as well. He enjoyed watching westerns and being with all his animals. Ernie cherished his time with the love of his life, Denise, and it didn't matter if it was watching westerns, going to casinos, or spending time with family.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Lillian Buresh; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Jackie Prochaska; sister, Helen Policky; brothers, Tony Buresh and Danny Buresh; brothers-in-law, Jeff Abel, Dave Bolen, Irv Jones, Bob Policky.
Survivors cherishing his memory include his wife, Denise Buresh of Dwight; children, AJ (Valerie) Buresh of Dwight, Chris (Holly) Buresh of Ulysses, Jenna (Don) Lange of David City, Lacey (Tyson) Wren of Brainard, Kelsey (Jordan) Volkmer of Schuyler; grandchildren, Nicole, Josh, Raelynn, Logan, Maddie, Brittney, Austin, Jacob, Hailey, Hannah, Aiden, Briley, Jaax, Brody, Alexander, Blair, Laynie, Jettson; great-granddaughter, Hallie; special daughter, Camryn; sisters, Rose Jones, Agnes (Roger) Hurt, Marcy (Jerry) Kremer, Karen (Tony) Sabatka, Janice (Rick) Harrison; sisters-in-law, Barbara Buresh, Carol (Dean) Fiala, Ron (Linda) Prochaska, Nancy Prochaska; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
