Eugene Henry Foltz was born on March 8, 1948, in Humphrey, Nebraska to Alfred and Luella (Pfeifer) Foltz and passed away on July 24, 2018, in Seward at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 16 days.

Eugene grew up in Columbus where he attended Columbus High School. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy on January 13, 1967. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged October 23, 1970. In 1971 he began working for NPPD as a lineman until his retirement in 2003, after 32 years. On September 1, 1973, Eugene married Becky Lynn Schmid and their marriage was blessed with two children, Stacy and Fred. He also worked for the Seward Schools driving a school bus for two years, followed by working for the City of Seward at the cemetery for nine years.   Eugene enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He volunteered at the  V.F.W. before becoming the Commander. He liked watching television, especially westerns. His favorite thing was his Tuesday Night Men's Club. Eugene joined the Seward Volunteer Fire Department Company 2 on April 1, 1987; he then retired after receiving his 25 year pin on April 1, 2012.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard and father-in-law, Arthur Schmid.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Becky; daughter, Stacy Wiese and husband Tim, Lincoln; son, Fred Foltz and wife Kim, Garland; three grandchildren, Bailey Foltz, Hunter Foltz and Madelyn Wiese; siblings, Theodore Foltz and wife Judy, Pee Wee Valley, Kentucky, Barbara Soulliere and husband Kenneth, Norfolk, Dean Foltz and wife Judy, Columbus, Vanora Mulligan and husband Michael, Columbus, Patricia Hinze and husband Larry, Rising City, Kathleen Hoebing and husband Dean, Norfolk, Allen Foltz and wife Jan, Columbus, Ronald Foltz and wife Connie, Columbus, Gary Foltz and wife Ruth, Columbus; sister-in-law, Chizuko Foltz, Fort Gariot, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
