Eugene "Gene" Kenneth Aegerter was born on November 5, 1926, west of Seward, Nebraska to John William and Louise Mathilda (Neujahr) Aegerter and passed away on April 21, 2018 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 16 days. Gene was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church on November 28, 1926 and later confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. He grew up in the Staplehurst area and graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1944.
Gene enlisted into the U.S. Navy on October 5, 1944 and was honorably discharged on June 21, 1946. On October 16, 1949 Gene was united in marriage to Delores Elaine Herpolsheimer at St. John Lutheran Church. To this union six children were born. Gene was employed at Herpolsheimer's Motors from 1950 until 1984. Gene was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Seward. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 4755, Seward. Upon retirement he resided in Matlacha, Florida until returning to Seward.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Aegerter; brothers and sisters in law, Harold and Ruth Aegerter, Mervin and Jane Aegerter, Arden and Betty Jane Aegerter and Ted Aegerter.
Gene is survived by his wife Delores, six children and their families,
