Faye Fern (Hemsath) Lukert, the daughter of Ludwig and Louise R. (Barth) Hemsath was born June 12, 1930 near Milford, Nebraska and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on July 4, 2009 at the age of 79 years, 22 days. Faye was a 1947 graduate of Milford High School. On January 21, 1951, Faye was united in marriage to Lester Lee Lukert in Seward. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Debbie, Joe and Brian. Faye and Les resided in Seward until 1982, when they moved to Oshkosh, Nebraska and then in 1990 to Big Springs. Faye enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening and was a seamstress. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Brule, Nebraska and was a longtime member of the MELD Club in Seward.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Louise Hemsath; her husband, Lester Lukert, in 1988; and her brother, Walter Hemsath.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lukert of Seward; her sons and daughter-in-law, Joe Lukert of Gillette, WY and Brian and Kim Lukert of Wilber; grandchildren and their spouses, Gene and Julie Thorne, Brandon Lukert and Ashley Schmersal, Lacy Lukert, Angie and Mike Dunstan, Josh Lukert, Kiley and Ben Wilkins, Kayla Lukert and boyfriend, Nick Baumfalk, Chandler Lukert, Kaden Lukert, Emma Kasl; great-grandchildren, Kolby, Shyla and Skyler Dunstan, Nathan Wilkins; brother and sister-in-law, Delroy and Alice Hemsath of Laurel, NE; sister and brotherin-law, Donna and Milton Erb of Sun Lake AZ; sister-in-law, Lola Hemsath of Seward; nieces, nephews and cousins. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Faye.
