Florence Hostetler, of Seward, Nebraska, passed away Friday February 6 at Bryan East Hospital after suffering complications from a broken hip. She lived at Seward Manor for the past eight years where she enjoyed sharing good times with friends and neighbors. Florence was born in Springfield Ohio 1921. She graduated from high school in 1939 from Rockway High School. She worked for 25 years as an accounting clerk for Main Auto Parts during which time she married the love of her life Joe D. Hostetler in 1950. They traveled to Indiana for the ceremony. Later in her life she became the treasurer of Graham Local school district in St Paris Ohio where she retired in 1979. After the death of her husband she moved to Mississippi closer to family where she remained until her move to Nebraska. She is survived by her two sons Dr. Douglas (Ann) Hostetler of Staplehurst and David Hostetler of Seward. Her grandchildren Tiffany Villegas of Dripping Springs, Texas and Daniel (Erica) Hostetler of Ashburn, Va. Granddaughter in law Jamie Wallingford of Prairie Home, Missouri and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother William (Erma) Bryan of New Haven, Indiana and one sister Glenna Mae Kadel of Springfield, Ohio. Florence was preceded in death by her husband Joe, grandson Chris Hostetler, parents Letha and Archillis Bryan, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. A celebration of Florence's life will be planned at a later date in Ohio at her home town. She would like everyone in the area to know how much she enjoyed living here and how much she loved the friends she made at the "Manor". The family would request any memorials be directed to the Staplehurst and Seward EMS. They were always helpful and compassionate when called. Thank you all.
