Florence Rae (Ferguson) Luebbe was born July 18, 1921, on a farm south of Friend, Nebraska to Robert M. and Bessie (Bartlett) Ferguson. She passed away on February 3, 2016, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 6 months, 16 days. Florence attended rural school for three years before moving with her family on March 1, 1929, to Beaver Crossing, Nebraska where she attended Beaver Crossing Public School and graduated with the Class of 1938. On November 10, 1940, Florence was united in marriage to Paul C. Luebbe at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward and they established their home on a farm near Goehner, Nebraska. Florence was baptized at the Methodist Church in Beaver Crossing on March 20, 1930, and later became a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner.
Florence served as corresponding secretary for Holy Cross Lutheran Church LWML and was also a member of the Goehner Grange.
Her parents, Robert and Bessie Ferguson; her husband, Paul C. Luebbe; her sister, Virginia Thomsen; her brother, Rev. Earl Ferguson, preceded Florence in death.
Florence is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Joan Luebbe, rural Goehner; her daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Charles Fricke, Papillion; her daughter, Joyce VanDusen and Dan Coogan, Omaha; nine grandchildren: Jana and John Hughes, Jeffrey and Melissa Luebbe, Jill and Dave Owens, Paul and Carol Fricke, Anne and Andrew Freeman, Kristin and John Farson, Katie and Jason Robinson, Jocelyn and Dave Stock, Austin and Kim VanDusen; 24 great-grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth Ferguson, Lincoln; her sister and brother-in-law, Mable and Wayne Olmsted, Friend; her sisters-in-law, Carol Luebbe, Redlands, CA and Albertina Luebbe, Seward; nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
