Frances Eleanor Rine of Seward, Nebraska passed away on August 5, 2018, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 11 days and now is dancing with the angels. The daughter of Walter and Olive (Burkhalter) Moore, she was born on June 25, 1928 in Gage County. Frances was united in marriage to Robert J. Rine on June 17, 1950, in Beatrice, NE. Frances served as Clerk of the District Court for Seward County for 27 years. Following her retirement she continued to volunteer for her church, and more recently for Meals on Wheels and Crossmakers. In 2014, she was selected as the recipient of the Wayne Tanderup Award, which honors and recognizes an individual in the community that in spite of a hardship of disability has become a successful member of society.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, William; sister, Georgia. Her survivors include brother, John Moore; sister, Aletha Davison; children, Charlie and Diane Rine, Virginia Walsh, Margaret Rine and David Ochsner, David and Lori Rine; grandchildren: Rachel, Jocelyn, Emily, Taylor, Hayley, Nolan, and Regan, Maggie, Courtney and husband Byron, TJ and wife Lacey; great-grandchildren, Josiah and Luke; her beloved friend, Betty Aegerter; neighbor, Jeni; members of her card club, church congregation, and a host of friends.
Special thanks to her caregiver Charlotte Murphy, Pastor Gwen Hurst, Dr. Gabriel, and the staff of Seward Memorial and Bryan West Hospitals, and the nursing staff of Aseracare Hospice.
Visitation will be at Friedens United Church of Christ from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 on August 10, 2018. A Celebration of Life service will held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 at Friedens United Church of Christ Church, 339 North 4th, Seward, Nebraska with a luncheon at the church to follow.
