Frank Dale Mikos was born on April 6, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska to Frank Edward and Birdean Ione (Marcum) Mikos and passed away on August 28, 2018, in Seward at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 22 days.
Frank grew up on the family farm between Dwight and Valparaiso. He graduated from Valparaiso High School with the Class of 1963. Frank then attended Peru State College where he received a BS degree in Education. On June 8, 1968, he was united in marriage to Delores Mae Christensen in Holstein, Nebraska. The couple moved to Topeka, Kansas where Frank taught school for a couple of years. Frank then began buying hogs for Wilson Packing Company. The couple moved to Seward in 1973 where he worked at the co-op for a short while, he later started selling seed corn for Fontanelle Hybrids for 15 years. Frank then went to work for Pfister Hybrids for several years. In Frank's younger years he enjoyed participating in rodeos, especially team roping on his favorite horse, Kelly. The family raised quarter horses and loved taking them to different horse shows. Frank loved watching Kim and Kory play in their ball games. He also liked to golf and fish. Frank really enjoyed putting around in the barn and doing wood work. He made some amazing pieces out of old scrap wood. Frank also enjoyed auctioneering for many years. He was a true family man and his wife, children and grandchildren were everything to him.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Reiss and Jean Christensen.
He is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Kim Hagedorn and husband Duane, Omaha, Kory Mikos and wife Kim, Omaha; four grandchildren, Jaida and Riley Hagedorn, Calan and Kenna Mikos; brother, Mike Mikos and wife Carole, Eskridge, KS; brother-in-law, Cork Christensen, Hasting, NE. An open house will be held at Frank & Delores' home, 1645 336th Road, Seward, NE 68434 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018.
