Freda Devoin Best was born on March 8, 1936, in Tilden, Nebraska to James and Sadie (Butler) White and passed away on January 25, 2022, in Gresham, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 17 days. Freda grew up in Tilden where she attended school and graduated from Tilden High School with the Class of 1955.

On September 24, 1955, Freda was united in marriage to Richard Best in Oklahoma. The couple lived in various states such as Texas and Arizona before moving to Gresham in 1995. Freda worked at nursing homes as a CSM for nearly 30 years, the last being at Bethesda & Sundermann Nursing Home. She was then employed at the convenience store in Gresham for 12 years before her retirement in 2008. Freda enjoyed painting, sewing, reading her books from Janet Daly, walking and collecting angels. She also enjoyed her cats. Freda loved to have family gatherings and picnics.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Best; siblings, Eula and Edward Waegli, June and Tom Cook, Jessie and Phyllis White.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her children, Kim and Deb Best, Silsbee, TX, Richard Jr. and Lori Best, Gilbert, AZ, Dot and Dan Cradick, Gresham, NE, Randy and Lorraine Best, Phoenix, AZ, Jerry Best, Gresham, NE, Edie Silve, Oregon; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joy and Don Bauermiester, Norfolk, NE; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Wava Best, North Platte, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Freda.
