Gale EUGENE Simonsen was born on October 7, 1953, in York, Nebraska to Rex Roland and Virginia Maxine (Stallings) Simonsen and passed away on May 11, 2019, in Utica at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 4 days. Gale grew up on the family farm near Utica/Beaver Crossing. He attended Centennial High School where he graduated with the Class of 1971; he then attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1977.

Gale farmed in the Utica area. He was a Pioneer seed grower and won numerous awards in yields. He enjoyed traveling and spending time in Colorado. Gale loved the outdoors which included fishing, hunting, skiing and going on cruises. Other enjoyments included watching the pivots, westerns, doing crosswords, and spending time with his many friends.

Gale is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sister, Vic Loos; brother-in-law, Doug Loos; nephew, Levi Lehr and fiancé Genna Kiser; niece, Lacey and Jeff Fauss; great nephews, Aydin, Rex and Kafrey; niece, Kristina and Ricky Dingle, IV; great nephew, Ricky Dingle, V; cousins, numerous relatives and friends.
