Genevieve Aileen (Hensley) Hodde was born July 27, 1931 in Hardy, Nebraska to Carl Cecil and Garnet LaVerna (Rakestraw) Hensley and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on April 29, 2007 at the age of 75 years, 9 months, 2 days. Genny attended school in Superior, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Peery and their union was blessed with six children. Genny moved to Seward in 1974 and was employed as a cook at Spare Time Lounge for many years. In 1975, Genny was united in marriage to Edgar Carl Lewis Hodde; Mr. Hodde passed away May 1, 1993. Genny was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Seward, VFW Auxiliary Post No. 4755 Seward and American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 369 - Garland. Genny was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Garnet Hensley; her husbands, Lawrence Peery and Edgar Hodde; her son, David Peery; granddaughter, Lori Peery; two brothers, Dwight Hensley and Cecil Hensley; five sisters; Barbara Gray, Fawn Derowitsch, Donna Wyscarver, Ivan Jean Hensley, Diana Imler; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Genny is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Janice Peery of Seward, Dixie Horn of Lincoln and special friend, Larry Barry, Ronald and Val Peery of Denton, Carl and Judy Peery of Lincoln, Robin Carel of Omaha; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Flora and Dale VanWinkle of Apache Junction, AZ; brother, Delbert Hensley of Superior; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Genny. |
