George Allen Schluckebier was born January 19, 1927 in Seward County, Nebraska to Friedrich H. and Anna Maria (Johann) Schluckebier and passed away on September 30, 2008, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 8 months, 11 days. George was a 1945 graduate of Seward High School. He was a lifelong farmer; a lifetime member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Goehner, a 15 year member of the Seward School District Board of Education and a 25 year member of the Goehner Volunteer Fire Department.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Friedrich H. and Anna Maria (Johann) Schluckebier; his brother, Ralph Schluckebier and granddaughter-in-law, Ginni Schluckebier.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Lea Schluckebier of Utica; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Julie Schluckebier of Pleasant Dale, Sam and Bev Schluckebier of Seward; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Jim Mack of Bellevue, Mila and Mark Hoffschneider of Johnston, IA, Dianne and Jim Soukup of Seward; step-daughter, Robin McMillian of Kansas City, MO; step-son and spouse, Ryan and Amy McMillian of Lincoln; 15 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Carl and Vivian Schluckebier of Staplehurst, Helen Schluckebier of Lincoln; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray and Pam Thompson of Lincoln, Delores and Ray McCoy of Kearney and Roy and Linda Harris of Tulsa, OK; special companion, his dog Toby and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with George.
