IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George L.
Vajgrt
November 14, 1942 – September 16, 2017
George Ludwig Vajgrt was born November 14, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska to Ludwig George "Lou" Vajgrt and Freda Ann (Hesser) Vajgrt and passed away on September 16, 2017 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 2 days.
George spent the majority of his life in the Omaha area and attended Omaha South High School. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. George retired from a career with Eastman Kodak and set out to work as an electrician as his second career. He is fondly remembered as a hard worker who instilled this in his children. George raised his family in a firm and stern manner. The tenderness that younger siblings, time and grandchildren revealed would show and further explain the depths of his love for his family and more about who he was. George enjoyed playing golf and annual golf trips with coworkers, working and being with his family.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Lou and Freda Vajgrt, and brothers James and Anthony Vajgrt.
Those children left to honor his memory include brother/son Joseph (Sharon) Vajgrt, Smolan, KS; George Jr. Vajgrt, San Diego, CA; David (Donna) Vajgrt, Georgetown, TX; Debra Vajgrt, South Sioux City, NE; Tom (Cheryl) Vajgrt, Seward; Michael Andrew (Cheryl) Vajgrt, Grand Island; Krista (Chris Mays), Evington, VA; and Matthew (Sara) Vajgrt , Camarillo, CA; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who dearly love him. George is survived by sisters Maryann (Harold) Semin, Bellevue, Betty (Earl) Hudson, Camden, TN and John Vajgrt (Carol Van Natta), Ft. Collins, CO.
A special thanks to HoriSun Hospice, Ridgewood Rehabilitation and Care Facility and staff and the town of Seward for welcoming George into the community and making him part of this family. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with George.
