In Memory of Gerald (Gary) D. Hobson Gerald Dean Hobson was born August 7, 1955 in York, Nebraska to Gerald G. and Kathryn (Snyder) Hobson and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 4, 2008 at the age of 52 years, 5 months, 28 days. Gary was baptized on August 21, 1955 and confirmed on May 17, 1970 both at Peace Lutheran Church in Waco, Nebraska. The family moved to Seward in 1964 and Gary was a graduate of Seward High School. On June 30, 1979, Gary was united in marriage to Barbara Hobson. Gary was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Seward. He was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed hunting and fishing and belonging to the ATA Amateur Trapshooting Association and NTA Nebraska Trapshooting Association. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Gerald G. Hobson and his sister, Joyce Hobson. Gary is survived by his wife, Barbara Hobson of Seward; his sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Teri Hobson of Seward and Mitch Hobson of Seward; his daughter, Kiley Hobson of Lincoln; grandchildren, Gavin, Treyton and TaeLynn Hobson; his mother, Kathryn Hobson of Seward; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Phil Barnes of York and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Gary. |
