Gerald William Schroeder was born on March 12, 1945, in Lincoln to Elmer and Emaleen (Boldebuck) Schroeder and passed away on September 26, 2017, in Brevard, North Carolina at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 14 days.
Jerry grew up in Staplehurst with his loving family. He married Susan Cole at age 18 and moved to California, they had four children together. He spent more than 40 years working at Rohr Industries as a tool builder. He was later united with Eloise Owen, together their family included eight children. Jerry loved being outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He looked forward to his annual hunting trip with his brothers.
Jerry was a generous kind hearted man loved by many. He had a great sense of humor, he loved to laugh and share stories from the past. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dean and sister-in-law Wendy.
Gerald is survived by his partner, Eloise Owen. Children: Sonya Koons and husband Ron, Melissa Medve and husband Doug, Mac Schroeder, Amanda Schroeder, numerous grandchildren: six siblings: Roger Schroeder, Staplehurst; Sharon and husband Joe Mumaugh, Seward; David and wife Theresa Schroeder, Garland; Sandra Schroeder, Seward; Dennis and wife Christee Schroeder, Seward; Lisa and husband Michael Decker, Staplehurst; numerous nieces and nephews and other loved ones. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Jerry.
