Glema Mae Jimmy (Hohnbaum) Dorffler was born January 1, 1923 in York County, Nebraska to John Elwood and Ada Mae (Nelson) Hohnbaum and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 14, 2006 at the age of 83 years, 11 months, 13 days. Glema was a graduate of Utica High School. On August 26, 1944, Glema was united in marriage to Ronald Fossey Dorffler at the Methodist Parsonage in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. To this union two children were born Roger and Connie. Glema was a member of the Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Holmes Post No. 178-Beaver Crossing, Kensington Club and she enjoyed bowling in Utica. Glema owned and operated the South Side Cafe in Beaver Crossing for 8 years. In 1997, Glema and Ronald moved to Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mae Hohnbaum; her husband, Ronald Dorffler, in January of 2006; her son, Roger Dorffler; brothers, Norman and Leland Hohnbaum. Glema is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Gary Knoble, Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Sue Dorffler, Lincoln; six granddaughters and spouses, Shannon and Matthew Simmons of Davey, Sandra and Bronson Howard of Speed, IN, Sarah and Bill McCarter of Seward, Rebecca Dorffler of Speed, IN, Stephanie Brennan of Lincoln and Theresa Dorffler of Oklahoma City, OK; five great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; sister-in-law, Irene Dorffler of Nashville, TN; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Glema. |
