Grant Edward Mullally, was born February 7, 1926 in rural Utica, Nebraska to Thomas Joseph and Mary M.(Osentowski) Mullally and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on August 30, 2011 at the age of 85 years, 6 months, 23 days. Grant was a 1944 graduate of Seward High School. He served his country in the United States Navy during WW II. On August 4, 1953, Grant was united in marriage to Grace Ellen Leybold in Boulder, Colorado. Grant worked as a real estate broker in Lincoln prior to beginning his longtime career in farming. Grant was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Seward and was a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 8469 in Seward where he was a Third Degree Knight. He was also a member of the York Elks Club and Utica American Legion Post No. 49. In 2009, Grant was the recipient of the Seward County Agricultural Society Lifetime Hall of Agricultural Achievement Award.
Grant is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Mullally and his brother, Patrick Mullally.
Grant is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace Mullally, Seward; his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael G. and Judy Mullally and Patrick L. and Janet Mullally, all of Seward; three grandchildren, Hannah Mullally, James Mullally, and Katheryn Mullally; his sister, Rita Rasperger, Falls City; uncle and aunt, Ed and Lillian Osentowski, Ord; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Grant.
