H. Richard "Dick" Stoddard was born February 17, 1924 in Lowville, New York to Harley Elliot & Mary Barbara (Hirschey) Stoddard and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on May 23, 2007 at the age of 83 years, 3 months, 6 days. Dick graduated from Lowville Academy in 1942. He then enlisted into the United States Army in the spring of 1943.

Dick married Lucille Morrison on October 4, 1946 in Lowville, New York. At the age of 21, Dick worked for the Autolite dealership in Lowville, NY. In 1952 he went to work at the Nortz Chrysler Dealership until 1958 when Dick and his family moved to Seward, NE were he was employed at Herpolsheimer Motors. Dick earned many years of extended Chrysler education and received numerous awards including being the first in Seward to receive the Chrysler Master Mechanic Award. Dick was a member of the United Methodist Church of Seward, the Southeast Community College -Milford Campus Advisory Board, a life member of the VFW # 4755 and a longtime member of the American Legion.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Alson Stoddard; his sister, Louise Becker

Dick is survived by his wife, Lucille Stoddard of Seward; his son, Dean Stoddard of Tucson, AZ and his special friend, Maureen; his daughter and son-in-law, Deb & Gordon Evert of Lincoln; grandchildren & spouses, Jennifer & Jon Wallwey, Jamieson & Dan Fredrick, Chad & Meredith Evert, Casey Stoddard & Jake Mindes, Colleen McAllister; great grandchildren, Alex, Delaney & Connor Wallwey, Stephen, McKenna, Carsen & Alexis Evert. His brother and sister-in-law, Elwood & Marie Stoddard of Lowville, NY;a brother-in-law, Bill Becker of New Bremen, NY; sisters-in-law, Louise Booth of Lowville, NY and Arlene Farmer of Denver, CO. Dick is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews as well as Dick's dog, "Presley."
