Harlow Albert Matzke was born May 11, 1917 near Milford, Nebraska to Edgar and Emma (Hedges) Matzke and passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Milford, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 7 months, 15 days. He was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Church at Milford. He attended Country School District No.48 and was a 1935 graduate of Milford High School. On January 20, 1946, Harlow was united in marriage to Mildred Eberspacher at her parents' home. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Holly and Robert. Harlow served on the Ruby Mount Pleasant Cemetery Board for many years; was on the Ruby District No. 7 School board and the J Precinct election board. Harlow was a member of the Seward United Methodist Church and served as financial secretary for 11 years. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Farmers Union. Harlow was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Emma Matzke and his sisters, Reva Eberspacher and Lois Eberspacher. Harlow is survived by his wife, Mildred Matzke, Seward; daughter, Holly Matzke, Seward; son, Robert Matzke, Seward; sister, Ellen Runty of DeWitt, NE; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
