Harold Ward Blank was born March 7, 1939 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Russell Merle and Mabel Elizabeth (Gossman) Blank and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on March 1, 2015 at the age of 75 years, 11 months, 22 days. Harold first attended school in Lincoln and was a 1957 graduate of Bear Creek High School in Denver, Colorado. On February 25, 1973, Harold was united in marriage to Shirley Annette Boyes at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Seward, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Jennifer. Harold and Shirley lived most of their married life in Lincoln with the exception of five years spent in Indianapolis, IN. Harold was employed with Burlington Railroad for a number of years and worked at the Nebraska Penitentiary as a Lieutenant in Security for many years, retiring in 2004. After his retirement Harold was a Red Coat at the Lincoln Airport. He attended St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Seward. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, R. Merle and Mabel Blank and his brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Clara Blank. Harold is survived by his wife, Shirley Blank of Lincoln; their daughter, Jennifer Blank, Lincoln; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Rhonda Blank, Lincoln; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and David Sanderson, Crossville, TN and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Gayle Boyes, Leawood, KS; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
