Harold George Klein was born August 14, 1917 near Bellwood, Nebraska to Louis and Lena (Barbel) Klein and passed away on January 30, 2006 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 5 months, 16 days. Harold graduated from Surprise High School on May 14, 1936. On February 24, 1941, Harold was united in marriage to Josephine Marie Schmit at St. Peters Church in Bellwood. They lived on a farm near Surprise, later farming near Ulysses and Staplehurst. Harold and Josephine moved to Seward in 1974. Harold was employed in the Shipping Department of Hughes Brothers Manufacturing for 17 years, retiring in 1982. He was also a member of the Hughes Brothers Union Board. Harold was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Seward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lena Klein; son, Stephen Klein; daughters, Susan Klein and Sandra Prochaska; brother, Anton Klein; infant sister, sisters and brothers-in-law, Madeline and Ernest Matulka, Josephine and Lad Sloup; nephews, Kevin Sloup, George Kavan, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Viola Kamenske, Elsie Schmit.

Harold is survived by his wife, Josephine Klein, Seward; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Klein, Beatrice, Raymond Klein, David City, Roger and Sandy Klein, Dorchester, Norman and Kathie Klein, Bee, Arthur and Tracy Klein, Lincoln, Ron Prochaska, Bee; 9 grandchildren, Rhonda and Bob Zoubek, Travis and Kris Brandenburgh, Trevor Brandenburgh, Jason and Kiley Brandenburgh, Sam Klein, Sarah Klein-Mooney, Justin and Melissa Kroll, Gabrielle Kroll and fianc, Jace Buglewicz, Matthew Klein; 4 great grandchildren, Brooke Zoubek, Brittney Zoubek, Bailey Mooney, Madison Brandenburgh; sister and brother-in-law, Clarabelle and George Kavan, LeCenter, MN; sister-in-law Annie Klein, Columbus; other relatives and a host of friends.
