In Memory of Harold C. Pollock Harold Clinton Pollock was born February 5, 1922 on his parents farm southwest of Utica, Nebraska in York County; he was the son of Robert Ralph and Lulu Viola (Roden) Pollock. He passed away on March 16, 2009 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 87 years, 1 months, 11 days. Harold attended grade school at District 33 southwest of Utica; he was a 1939 graduate of Utica High School. Harolds early employment was in eastern Iowa picking corn, working for Kenny and Wilford Volzke and for John Deere dealer, John Hanson, in Utica before joining the service in 1942. Harold served in the U.S. Air Corp and was a rear gunner during his service years. After the service Harold came back to the Utica-Waco area and worked for Bill Schultz Chevrolet in Seward and in York as a mechanic for Paul Geis. Harold entered the John Deere business at Crete, then worked at the John Deere dealership in Shelton and then John Deere in Central City. A partnership between Harold, Bob and Louis Pollock was formed on April 1, 1952 and Pollock Bros. Implement and Hardware, John Deere Dealership was in operation in Utica until their retirement in August of 1993. On October 27, 1946, Harold was united in marriage to Luella Caroline Niemann in Marysville, Kansas. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Patrice Jean Pollock who died in infancy in 1951. Harold was a member of Utica American Legion Post #49, Seward VFW Post #4755, the Utica Fire Department, Nebraska Implement Dealers Association, Nebraska Petroleum Marketers Association and the Nebraska Hardware Association. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ralph and Lulu Pollock; his daughter, Patrice Jean Pollock; brother, Norman Pollock, brother-in-law, Wayne Luethje; sisters-in-law, Irene Pollock and Lorene Pollock; niece, Kay Brhel; 2 nieces in infancy; and a great nephew in infancy. Harold is survived by his wife, Luella Pollock of Utica, his brother, Louis Pollock of Utica, sister, Lucille Luethje of Holdrege, brothers and sister-in-law, Marvin Pollock of Seward, Robert and LaRue Pollock of Utica; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
