Helen M. Sleight-Fozzard was born on June 14, 1918, in Marysville, Kansas to William and Lydia (Tarvin) Armstrong and passed away on January 28, 2014, in York, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 7 months and 15 days. She was a graduate of Rising City high school. She married Sam Sleight on November 24, 1938, at Columbus. Three children were born to this union. They resided in and near Ulysses. She was an employee of the Butler County Highway Dept. and was Ulysses Village Clerk for 23 years. After her husband's death June 19, 1972, she married Dale Fozzard on November 2, 1983, at Elk Point, South Dakota. They resided at Golden, Colorado and Grant, Nebraska. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Lied Senior Center of Seward and Ulysses Youth of Yesteryear. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Alan and Geraldine Sleight of Milford, Nebraska Bob and Carolyn Sleight of York, Nebraska and daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and lanny Mather of Lincoln, Nebraska, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Thelma Sleight of Santa Ana, California, brother-in-law and spouse, Doyle and Laverna Fozzard of Rising City, Nebraska, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, a sister Vida Hardey and brother Edwin Armstrong.
