Helen Deliala (Kauffman) Imig was born April 3, 1911 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Simon Clinton Clint and Lottie Mable (Tutin) Kauffman and passed away on July 29, 2006 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 3 months, 26 days. Helen attended Clinton Grade School and Whittier Junior High, both in Lincoln and was a 1929 graduate of Lincoln High School. On September 10, 1930, Helen was united in marriage to Elmer Henry Nicholas Imig at Herndon, Kansas. They lived on a farm southwest of Seward from 1930 to 1969 then moved to Lincoln and in 1992, they moved back to Seward. Elmer passed away on July 14, 1996. Helen was formerly a longtime member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Goehner and currently was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Seward. She had been a member of the Country Womans Club since 1930 and had served as a volunteer at Lancaster Manor in Lincoln for over 20 years.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Imig; her brothers, Clarence Bus Kauffman and sisters and brothers-in-law, Angie Iola and George Morgan and Eleanor and Robert Bowling; her son-in-law, Eugene Sloup, granddaughters, Jean Louise Olson and Darcy Stephens Imig.

Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Judy Imig of Lakeside, Nebraska and her daughter, Shirley Sloup of Staplehurst; her eight grandchildren and their families, Janyce Imig and Emily, Boulder, CO, Mike and Stacey Imig and their daughters, Maggie and Madison of Lakeside, Mary Imig and Rob Schweitzer and children, Clare and Jack of Monti Sereno, CA, Julie and Steve Arkfeld and daughters, Ellen and Grace, Boulder, CO and R. Scott and Glenda Sloup of Seward and daughters, Ashley and Erin, Bill and Deb Sloup of Seward and children, Katie, Laura and John, Susan Sloup of York; Nick and Andrea Sloup of Seward and their children, Shane, Shelbi, Brevin, Natalie and Haylie; also sister-in-law, Edna (Bus) Kauffman, Grand Island; other relatives and a host of friends.
