Helen Louise Schildt was born on September 21, 1922, in Garland to Fred and Emma (Warnsholz) Ahrens and passed away on September 6, 2017, in Seward at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 16 days. Helen was baptized on October 8, 1922 and confirmed on April 5, 1936 at Zion Lutheran Church in Garland. She grew up in Garland where she attended school and graduated with the Class of 1940.
On September 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harold Henry Schildt in Pleasant Dale. The couple was engaged in farming and lived most of their married life on the farm west of Malcolm. Helen was a long time member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in LWML for many years. Helen enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren while her children worked. She held her family dear to her heart. Helen enjoyed working on puzzles, playing cards with her neighbors and working in her garden.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold in 2010, daughter Delores, eight sisters, one brother and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Helen is survived by her children: Wayne and wife Pat Schildt, Malcolm; MarJean and husband Milan Schweitzer and Ila and husband Harry Keller both of Pleasant Dale; eight grandchildren and their spouses: Brent Schildt, Ryan and Teresa Schildt, Leigh Ann and Landon Husband, Kelley and Dan Burianek, Jodi Barry, Jeff and Jenni Schweitzer, Kyle and Marta Keller, Leslie and Cory Thomas; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
