Helena Ann (Bartek) Bohaty was born April 7,1918 to Ralph Frank and Christina Teresa (Kriz) Bartek at her parent's home in Loma, Nebraska and passed away on June 1, 2008 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 1 month, 24 days. She was baptized April 21, 1918 and confirmed July 1, 1926, both at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Loma. She attended school in Loma. On June 25, 1946, Helena was united in marriage to Edward Alois Bohaty also at St. Luke's Catholic Church and their marriage was blessed with two children, Cheryl and Keith. Helena was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caregiver. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church; a member of the choir for 55 years, church organist for 25 years, and a member of the Altar Society. The couple moved to Seward in 1986. After moving to Seward Helena was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Helena was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bohaty in 1996; her parents, Ralph and Christina Bartek; and two brothers, Ted and Rudy Bartek. Helena is survived by her children and their spouses, Cheryl and Melvin Lindner, Malcolm and Keith and Brenda Bohaty, Overland Park, Kansas; four grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Frank Loos, Chris and Lindsey Lindner, Brent Bohaty, Bree Bohaty and one great-grandddaughter, Cydnee Loos; sisters, Marge Gubser, Clara Karpisek, and Leona Petrzilka, all of Lincoln; Bernice Houska, Wahoo; sisters-in-law, Etta Bartek, Lincoln and Mary Bartek, David City; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Helena. |
