Henrietta Cecil (Suellwold) Clark was born September 15, 1915 in Seward, Nebraska to Adolph George Otto and Georgia Louise (Thom) Suellwold and passed away on August 8, 2008 in Seward at the age of 92 years, 10 months, 23 days. Henrietta was the oldest of seven children who grew up on a farm in Seward County. She taught country school following her high school graduation in 1932. On September 5, 1935, Henrietta was united in marriage to Jack Clark in Tekamah, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Nita and Jack. Henrietta was active in Eastern Star until recent years, having served as Worthy Matron. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was employed for several years at Consumers Public Power District, retiring at age 65. Henrietta enjoyed card playing, hunting, fishing, golfing, quilt making, knitting and Nebraska football. She was busy knitting stocking caps for friends, family, under privileged children and the homeless up until her passing. Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Clark; parents, Otto and Georgia Suellwold; brothers, Chester and Floyd Suellwold and sisters, Lucille Ferguson, Ruth Borchers and Lois Jean Day. Henrietta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nita and Dean Goings of Seward; her son and daughter-in-law, Jack C and Diane Clark of Seward; grandchildren and spouses, Jon Hoffman, Jim and Kathy Hoffman, Andrea Clark, Cindy and Art Connolly, Lori and toby Genrich; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Alice Marten, Lincoln; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Henrietta. |
