In Loving Memory of Herman R. Stanislav Herman Raymond Stanislav was born August 21, 1923 near Linwood, Nebraska to Frank F. and Mary Elizabeth (Meduna) Stanislav and passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Bellevue, Nebraska at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home at the age of 88 years, 6 months, 13 days. Stan was a 1942 graduate of Schuyler High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He attended Milford Trade School in the auto mechanics/diesel program. Stan served as Staplehurst Postmaster for 31 years and was the custodian at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church for 11 years, retiring in 1993. Stan was united in marriage to Mary Kobza in 1947 and their marriage was blessed with six children, Frances Ann, Jeanie, Vicki, Barbara, Stephen and Michael. On August 21, 1973, Stan was united in marriage to Julia F. Dvorak; she preceded him in death December 29, 1991. On May 29, 1993, Stan was united in marriage to Rose Martha Bohaty and Rose passed away on June 16, 2009. Stan is preceded in death by his parents; his wives; an infant sister, MaryAnn; daughter, Sister Frances Ann Stanislav; granddaughter, Tricia Erbentraut; brother, Bernard Stanislav. Stan is survived by his children and their spouses, Jeanie and Stuart Erbentraut of Lowell, MI, Vicki and Dan Snowden of Arkansas City, KS, Barbara and Don Quinn of Langhorne, PA, Stephen J. and Pat Stanislav of Valparaiso and Michael and Christy Stanislav of Elkhorn; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sally Stanislav of Linwood; nieces, nephews, cousins, stepchildren and a host of friends.
